Internship Description:
The Global Spectrum managed facilities, The Atlantic City Convention Center and Historic Boardwalk Hall, are looking for a college junior, senior or graduate student to serve as a marketing intern. Global Spectrum is subsidiary of Comcast-Spectacor, the Philadelphia-based company which is one of the world’s largest sports and entertainment companies. Global Spectrum (global-spectrum.com) is the fastest growing firm in the public assembly facility management field with more than 120 facilities throughout the United States and Canada.

Intern Objectives Include:
• Assist with planning and promotion of family shows, concerts, and arena sporting events
• Assist day-of-event operations associated with all marketing and group sales events such as client parties, birthday parties, and corporate functions before and/or during the event.
• Assisting marketing and group sales staff with various projects involving research including conducting demographic and psychographic research for various department projects, group sales prospecting and database acquisition
• Growing and maintaining email marketing and social media databases
• Grassroots marketing research and execution by going out into the community with a regular employee to represent the arena at festivals, fairs, and other events with high traffic to publicize arena and events coming to us.
• Learn to make group sales calls and Assist Group Sales Manager in researching corporations, scouts, schools, and other businesses that may be interested in group sales events.
• Assisting in creation of event collateral to promote upcoming events
• Help with the creation and execution of group sales plan and group sales flyers.
• Gathering event news clips for various building events, advertising and public relations projects
• Assist with various public relations functions such as: brainstorming, executing public relation events and performing all other duties assigned
• Assist in employee customer service award program
• Assist in training of new intern rotations
• Assist with media relations on event nights

Requirements:
• Must be college junior, senior or grad student seeking an internship to satisfy a class credit requirement (The internship is unpaid)
• Hours/schedule based on school’s credit hour requirements; Minimum of 15 hours per week from late May through August, 2014, for Summer internship preferred; evenings and weekends required based on event calendar
• Fall Internship also available from September to December.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop preferred
• Video editing skills a plus but not required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Internet
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects

Summary:

Coordinate and implement projects that will contribute to the implementation of event marketing plans for the event season at the Augusta Entertainment Complex (James Brown Arena and William B. Bell Auditorium). Assist the marketing and group sales team in completing tasks necessary for marketing campaigns for events coming to the venue. This is a unique opportunity to learn what goes into a comprehensive marketing campaign for concerts, family shows, and special events.

Reports to: Marketing Manager & Group Sales Manager

Requirements:

o Strong writing and communication skills
o Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop a plus
o Must be outgoing, creative, hard-working, resourceful, independent thinker who is greatly interested in working in Sports/Entertainment Marketing
o Must be rising college junior or senior seeking an internship to satisfy a college credit requirement (Internship is unpaid, and housing/transportation is intern’s responsibility)

Intern Duties:

o Learn to create event marketing and PR plans
o Attend meetings with marketing staff including those with local community organizations
o Conduct research regarding competitive events in the CSRA area by identifying target markets
o Conduct research for various marketing and group sales projects on a per-show basis
o Learn to develop grassroots plan – i.e. negotiating trade opportunities, getting materials printed (posters, flyers, register to win boxes)
o Assist marketing & sales team in the planning and execution of pre-event parties and promotions, VIP room activities, birthday parties, meet & greets
o Learn to create and maintain databases, while qualifying group sales contacts
o Help with our “How You Doin?” Customer Service program by brainstorming ideas, creating plans on implementing the customer service program, and assisting with trade opportunities
o Coordinate and represent the Augusta Entertainment Complex, alongside the marketing & sales team, to promote events via booths/tables at festivals, fairs, and other events with high traffic to publicize arena and events
o Gather event news clips
o Learn and assist with implementation of marketing campaigns on several social media outlets
o Brainstorm with marketing team and help execute public relations initiatives. Ability to attend local community meetings with marketing staff, such as young professionals groups
o Learn from Group Sales Manager how to promote Group Theme Nights, Family Shows and other events to group customers

FALL 2014 MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA INTERNSHIP - CFE Arena (Orlando, FL)

Hours:
Must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week. Interns must be available for selected events and grassroots activities that occur on evenings and weekend. The internship runs from August to December.

Internship Description:
Learn to coordinate, implement and work on projects that will encompass plans for the event season at the CFE Arena. Assist the Marketing staff in completing tasks necessary for the overall campaign for the upcoming show season with a heavy focus on social media and online/internet aspects of marketing.

Requirements:

Reports To: Event Manager

Hours Required:
Hours vary – in addition to office hours, students must be available for various assigned events that occur on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Part-time and full-time opportunities are available (Minimum of 15 hrs per week)

Duration: One Semester (August-December/Fall Semester)

Qualifications:

• Learning how to meet deadlines and correspond with various publications, i.e. due date, format needed, who to send it to, etc.
• Learning how to work with Marketing and Group Sales in order to complete tasks

This is a sports and entertainment marketing internship for class credit with a wide variety of projects that encompass the event seasons at Santa Ana Star Center. Summary:
Learn live event marketing through assist marketing and sales with promotion of events in the community and help all Tsongas Center/Lowell Memorial Auditorium staff on event days in any areas of need that may arise.

Learning Objectives:

• Must be able to keep up in fast-paced environment, customer service orientated and professional, and able to participate during normal business hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as based on the event calendar

Length of Internship:

The internship period is Summer of 2014 and will run concurrently with the applicant’s university internship requirements. Hours: Varies. Times and days vary depending on game schedule. To be considered, the intern must be willing to work a non-traditional schedule of hours and days as needed. This would include nights, weekends, and dates when events are scheduled.
