RESPONSIBILITIES:

Learn game-day customer relations and execution of season ticket holder in-game benefits

  • Under the direction and supervision, provide exceptional customer service to season ticket members and execute in-game benefits
  • Participate in the marketing, promotions and events for Season Tickets Holders
  • Learn to in plan, organize and execute an array of elements necessary for all season ticket holder benefits
  • Research concepts for contests, events, and benefits for season ticket members
  • Learn and participate in the execution of game-day promotions
  • Assist with packaging and fulfillment of various season ticket mailings
  • Other objectives as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

College Juniors, Seniors, or Graduate students.

  • Applicants can receive college credit, though it is not a requirement.

  • Applicant must be willing to get involved in projects with varying degrees of difficulty.

  • Previous customer Service experience is preferred.

  • Must be able to work all Flyers home games January to April.

  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word computer program required.

FLYERS CHARITIES GAME NIGHT INTERN (SPRING 2018) - Philadelphia Flyers (Philadelphia, PA)

OVERVIEW:

Since its inception, Flyers Charities has contributed over $27 million to charity. The funds raised from the Flyers Wives Carnival and other initiatives and events help support hundreds of non-profit organizations throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region. Flyers Charities proudly supports non-profit organizations that provide educational and recreational resources to underserved youth, engage in important medical and healthcare research, and countless community development initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work all Flyers home games assisting with the 50/50 Raffle Program and occasionally other programs and tasks.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of Flyers Charities 50/50 Raffle program.
  • Must be at games at least two hour prior to doors opening (example: doors open at 5:30 p.m. for a 7 p.m. Flyers game, therefore, interns are asked to arrive by 3:30 p.m. to help set up.)
  • Occasional nights or weekends are required.
  • This internship does not include office hours, however, if schedule allows, interns that are able to work in the office prior to games may also:
  • Assist in the preparation of the Flyers Wives Carnival, Flyers Charity Classic, Building Hope for Kids and other Flyers Charities initiatives.
  • Attend meetings, answer telephones, distribute mail, and assist with call-ins.
  • Merchandise and inventory control, and assist in solicitation of merchandise.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Occasional “lifting” is required for events, event preparation, inventory maintenance and game night set-up and clean up.

QUALIFICATIONS:

College juniors, seniors, or graduate students working for earned credits.  Must be dependable, friendly, personable, and outgoing.  Applicants must be willing to get involved in projects with varying degrees of difficulty.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.  Ability to use general programs such as Word, Excel, etc.

FLYERS BOX OFFICE INTERN (SPRING 2018) - Philadelphia Flyers (Philadelphia, PA)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily, Weekly, Event responsibilities:

  • Pending your schedule, you will work a few game night events, responsibilities will lean more to customer service, event benefit fulfillment and providing exemplary customer service for our fans
  • Check all controls for past events to drop
  • Update and check all controls for price type changes and events to drop as requested by ticket office personnel
  • Update stub hub amounts on SHC line items
  • Run PIN application
  • Givex (stored value and loaded ticket platform) assist with account updates
  • Data entry updates of FL addresses, emails E/PAH and billing/mailing address type
  • Learn to function fluidly in the Spectra/Paciolan Ticketing System
  • Help answer phones and assist customers at box office customer service window
  • Send tickets via PAH when requested
  • Manage the mailing of invoices under the direction of ticket office personnel
  • Assist with mailing of season tickets to season ticket customers

Anticipated objectives/actions to be completed during internship:

  • Create an account completely (t.res/PAC7)
  • Assist in building an event from start to finish
  • Create an e.Query to pull information from database to track your event
  • Identify 5 new benefits we currently don’t offer our season ticket base, identify 2 new HTML options that will update our website
  • Create a project to present in and run one Ticket Office/Customer Service meeting
  • Attend PAC7 training, once accomplished on the system, assist with PAC7 training

Nonessential Job Functions:

  • Will be responsible for keeping areas of office and storage closet up to date and clean
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

College juniors/seniors or graduate students working for college credits

  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Salesforce and Paciolan/New Era Ticketing System (training provided).

CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS INTERN (SPRING 2018) - Wells Fargo Center (Philadelphia, PA)

Summary:  The Corporate Communications Intern will support a fast-paced team to deliver internal and external communications that support Comcast Spectacor’s three core business: Philadelphia Flyers, Wells Fargo Center, and Spectra. In this part-time role, you will have the opportunity to make valuable contributions to an array of projects and build your knowledge in order to pursue a career in Communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with team members and various businesses/departments to assist with content creation, copy editing, and delivery of employee communications including weekly enterprise-wide e-newsletter, human resources programs and initiatives, and internal promotions on an as-needed basis
  • Assist with management of employee intranet, including content/graphic creation, copy editing, and delivery of news articles, flash images, department pages, and backend maintenance to ensure information is fresh and relevant
  • Create training materials and user guides for employee intranet, serving as the point person for intranet questions and inquiries
  • Assist in the planning, production, design and delivery of internal and external media materials, including infographics, posters, videos, social media assets, etc.
  • Assist in development of communication plans and key messaging tactics for major projects
  • Assist in implementation of social messaging and content for social accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university with the Grad year of 2019 or 2020 (Sophomores & Juniors)
  • Major: Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism, Marketing, English, Business Administration preferred
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA

Essential:

  • Passion for Sports and Entertainment industry with a desire to develop a career in Communications
  • Proactive and enthusiastic; willingness to learn; “can-do” attitude
  • Excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with strong interpersonal skills
  • Analytical with outstanding attention to detail, excellent organizational skills; ability to effectively prioritize/manage workload

  • High level of creativity and design skills; basic understanding of Adobe Creative Suite may be beneficial
  • Understanding of and active interest in digital media and social media landscape
  • Ability to work with confidential materials discreetly and responsibly
  • Strong office admin and IT skills; confident user in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Preferred:

  • Video shooting, production, and editing background
  • Graphic design experience
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite

3601 VIDEO PRODUCTION INTERN (SPRING 2018) - Wells Fargo Center (Philadelphia, PA)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Learn all aspects of our production facility and assist in various hands-on aspects of video production.

  • Gain Control Room familiarity including routing and patching sources, Harris CG and ClickEfx Crossfire operations
  • Use Avid editing software to log footage, create DVD dubs
  • Use Adobe Photoshop to assist with in-game graphics production, learn how to “prep” the Control Room for game-nights
  • Act as production assistant on video shoots—assist with lighting, camera set-up, green-screen or pipe-and-drape (if applicable), operate teleprompter, handle lavaliere microphones, log tape, etc.
  • Video, internet or footage research for corporate and in-game projects
  • Assist with set-up and strike of AV equipment within building
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Open to college juniors, seniors and graduate students studying in a related concentration

  • Ability to do basic video editing and graphics by using Avid or similar editing platforms; Adobe Photoshop and/or AfterEffects preferred
  • Strong Computer skills with a working knowledge of video production equipment: Cameras, teleprompter, lighting, microphones, etc.
  • Familiarity with Control Room operations preferred
  • Professional attitude and communications skills required
