BOX OFFICE MANAGER - Bank United Center at the University of Miami (Coral Gables, FL)

Supervises:        P/T Ticket Sellers

Venue Overview:

The BankUnited Center has a seating capacity of 8,000 and is home to the University of Miami Hurricanes and other premier entertainment events. The Box Office Manager assists in the overall administrative planning, direction, and policy implementation within the department. The Box Office Manager supervises department staff to ensure that the highest quality of services is offered to patrons, promoters, and guests.

 

Job Functions:

 

  • Oversees seller windows and Box Office areas

  • Balance and Reconcile Box Office receipts  and verify change in Vault on a daily basis

  • Prepares and processes the Sales Report, Executive Sales Report and Bank Deposit on a daily basis.

  • Review employee time sheets, prepares and approves bi-weekly departmental payroll.

  • Responsible for hiring all part time ticket office employees

  • Prepares work schedules and oversees employee training

  • Establish and maintain inventory controls on ticket stock and office supplies.

  • Update and communicate all Box Office information for ticket sellers.

  • Compile ticket sales audits and reports for promoters and building management.

  • Trains and supervises Box Office personnel in the processing of group sales, in-house, suites and VIP orders as well as the distribution and accounting of tickets

  • Oversee “Will Call” ticket distribution on event day and ensure accurate distribution of tickets.

  • Perform other duties as directed or requested by Director of Finance, Director of Facilities and General Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in event/sports management or related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.

  • Computerized ticketing experience; Ticketmaster Host system preferred

  • Strong management, motivational and organizational skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to function in a fast paced, high pressure environment

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Willingness to work nights and weekends above and beyond normal working hours.
