STATUS:               Full-time, Salaried



With the support of the department Manager, the Marketing & Group Sales Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in executing traditional media buying, promotions, public relations, and grassroots marketing, as well as prospecting new clients and booking group sales for the venue and all live events.



  • Provide marketing and group sales support for all concerts, family shows, sporting events and other miscellaneous events in the venue

  • Assist in the development of targeted marketing, advertising and group sales campaigns for live events at the General Motors Centre, as well as executing street level grassroots initiatives and creatively selling group sales assets

  • Develop and maintain relationships with promoters, event producers, sub-contractors and tenants

  • Develop marketing and group sales recap summaries for facility events

  • Responsible for the distribution of press releases for each event announcement

  • Develop collateral material for internal departments and upcoming events using Adobe Photoshop CS6

  • Execute market research avenues by surveying past purchasers, as well as members of the Backstage Pass e-mail database

  • Assist in the maintenance of the website for the General Motors Centre, as well as interacting on all social media platforms

  • Produce and execute targeted e-mail campaigns for all events

  • Execute sales calls as well as researching and contacting corporations, scouts, schools, and other businesses that may be interested in groups sales events

  • Responsible for data entry within Salesforce and processing ticket orders through the ticketing system

  • Assist in day-of-event operations associated with all marketing and group sales events such as pre-show parties, client parties, corporate functions and media relations, during and/or after the event

  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned





  • Three (3) Year College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree within Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Sport Management or any other related program

  • Minimum of one (1) year marketing and sales experience, preferably with a sports facility, convention centre, performing arts facility, or live entertainment promoter

  • Strong leadership, organizational and creative thinking skills

  • Proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and written communication skills

  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects

  • Possess excellent people skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with the general public, staff, and co-workers

  • Ability to conduct all interactions in a positive, professional manner

  • Be proficient in using all Microsoft Office applications, as well as spreadsheets, database, presentation, and graphic design skills are a must; knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Salesforce is preferred

  • Proven track record of working with a variety of social media platforms, and strong knowledge and experience with interactive marketing

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended (long) work days with extended number of days
