OPERATIONS COORDINATOR - Global Spectrum (Hoffman Estates, IL)

Reports To: Operation Manager

Entity: Global Spectrum-Sears Centre Arena

Location: Hoffman Estates, IL

Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience in facility operations for a stadium, arena, convention center, hotel, or other similar public assembly facility; some supervisory responsibility preferred
  • Capable of rotating shifts, work split shifts, work weekends
  • Capable of operating forklifts, case trailers, sweepers, or other operational equipment
  • Superior communicating and supervisory skills
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
  • Capable of physical tasks for short periods of time
  • Basic data processing and Microsoft application skills required

Job Functions:

  • Directs and coordinates the changeover crew and their activities involved in event setups and ice making
  • Enforce all changeover policies and procedures
  • Supervise work assignments of crew
  • Insure changeover personnel are in proper uniform and condition to work
  • Train changeover crews in the proper usage and maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Assist in the direction of all work projects of the department
  • Work events when directed
  • Assist in snow removal and oversee gardening crew
  • Responsible for the storage and inventory control of all changeover tools and equipment
  • Stress safety practices at all times
  • Responsible for the Operations Daily Report to insure proper coding of event hours
  • Other duties as assigned

STAFF ACCOUNTANT - Global Spectrum (Hoffman Estates, IL)

Reports to: Director of Finance

Entity: Global Spectrum-Sears Centre Arena

Location: Hoffman Estates, IL

Summary:

To monitor, control, and audit all financial transactions, and to perform a full range of professional accounting duties involved in fiscal management, record keeping, reporting and financial analysis of the facility.

Qualifications:

  • Two years of professional accounting experience preferably including some supervisory experience and significant work in financial auditing.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting.
  • Application of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to a variety of accounting audits, transactions, and problems.
  • Principles and practices of financial auditing and inventory accounting methods.
  • Financial report preparation methods and techniques.
  • Operate a ten key calculator by touch at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
  • Operate a computer to perform accounting functions.
  • Modern office procedures, methods and related computer equipment.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Familiarity with MAS 200 a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Job Functions:

  • Process and prepare accounts payable invoices.
  • Perform analysis of accounting records; prepare event profitability statements.
  • Verify post original entries to subsidiary and general ledger accounts; run trial balances; prepare sales statements.
  • Oversee payroll processing and on sight Human Resource functions.
  • Detail processing for accounts receivable, and collection calls for outstanding payments.
  • Maintain all employee records.
  • Assist with month end closing procedures.
  • Prepare audit work papers and perform analysis of accounts.
  • Perform related professional accounting work in support of accounting functions.
  • Apply Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to accounting and auditing work.
  • Examine and verify a variety of financial documents and reports.
  • Prepare a variety of financial statements, reports, and analyses.
  • Apply accounting principles to the maintenance of financial and accounting transactions and audit of financial records involved for in-house food and beverage operations.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent work experience / combination education and experience will be considered
  • 1 - 2 years of event operations experience, preferably with a stadium, arena, convention center, hotel, or other similar public assembly facility
  • Strong management, motivational & organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft applications
  • Willingness to work nights & weekends above and beyond normal working hours as required

Job Functions:

  • Act as liaison for building with all parties involved in the event
  • Communicate with building staff all requirements necessary for the events
  • Prepare event estimates as determined by requirements using annual budget as a guide
  • Coordinate event seating layouts with box office when necessary
  • Coordinate show requirements with tour production managers
  • Prepare data sheet for building personnel prior to each event
  • Present event previews/reviews in weekly staff meeting
  • Coordinate and settle all event financial matters with Finance Department
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

PREMIUM SEATING SALES & SERVICE - Global Spectrum (Bay Area, CA)

Reports to: General Manager

Status: Full Time Salary + Commissions

Summary: This position is responsible for the marketing, sales and servicing of premium seating products

Job Requirements and Duties:

  • Create a sales marketing plan that will drive new business sales for Premium Seating.
  • Execute against this marketing plan and create a detailed project timeline that will be followed with daily and weekly goals.
  • Manage internal and external sales process and report to the facility GM.
  • Negotiate, close and implement premium seat sales (season ticket and one-off sales).
  • Solicit, develop and service premium seat clients.
  • Develop sales leads.
  • Compile a database for single-event sales.
  • Develop project proposals, sales materials, and presentations.
  • Create and implement grassroots marketing campaigns to maximize account awareness and exposure.
  • Participate in the development of an overall marketing plan & budget.
  • Adhere to established reporting procedures for all sales activity and provide reports to General Manager on sales and marketing activity as requested.
  • Assist in the identification of available premium seating inventory.
  • Work with the facilities staff to communicate marketing activity, finalize sales, contract fulfillment and account servicing.
  • Attend all concerts and be available for clients throughout the entire show.
  • Coordinate pre-season and post-season client parties.
  • Responsible for maintaining contracts for all accounts as well as contract compliance forms.
  • Bill credit cards as needed per contract regulations.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager.

Reports To: Regional VP’s, General Manager, Director of Corporate & Premium Seating Sales

Job Description: The Premium Seating & Client Services Coordinator is responsible for the marketing, sales and servicing of all premiums seating, including suite sales, suite rentals Loge and Club seats, along with misc. advertising relationships related to the Sears Centre Arena and its tenants, in conjunction with the Director of Corporate & Premium Seating Sales.

Job Duties:

  • Servicing & fulfillment of Premium Seating clients for all events (Loge, Club Seats & Suites)
  • Servicing & fulfillment of Corporate Sponsorships of building, events and tenants
  • Budget goal requirements and compliance
  • Completing and updating reporting and tracking systems
  • Creation and development of sales presentation materials and collateral materials
  • Liaison with accounting, box office, team personnel, building personnel and Front Row Marketing Services
  • Attend any and all events for servicing and activation.
  • Attend weekly sales meetings and create reporting system to corporate
  • Involved in management and scheduling of part time suite level concierge staff and interns
  • Responsible for working with outside agencies to get all corporate partnerships signage created and placed
  • • Responsible for creating season recap of season for corporate partners
  • Responsible for servicing and fulfilling all premium seating and corporate sponsorships through various means including direct contact, newsletters, corporate partner gatherings, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by General Manager of building, Regional VP’s and Director of Corporate &Premium Seating Sales


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates or has prior advertising/sponsorship/premium seating experience/knowledge of local corporate market and/or industry
  • Previous experience in a similar working environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or better from an accredited college or university preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Proficiency with data processing, MS Office applications and overall computer skills
  • Ability to work nights, all events, weekends, events and holidays as required
