Position Overview: The Parking Manager is responsible for managing and performing all aspects of the facility parking and traffic operations, from a leadership standpoint as well as in a hands-on role. This is to include, but not limited to, parking staff functions, controlling associated parking tickets / passes, planning logistical operations, ensuring proper cash management, valet parking operations and assistance with garage / surface lot maintenance & repair.
Exercise direct supervision over ALL Parking department personnel.
Select, interview, train, evaluate, counsel and schedule all personnel to perform Parking Attendant, Cashier, and Traffic Control functions as needed.
Communicate policy, process and procedure updates / information to all parking personnel as needed.
Inspect work productivity of all parking personnel to ensure the highest levels of efficiency, accuracy and customer service are met.
Ensure staff scheduling and attendance activities are completed timely and accurately in time clock system. Resolve issues as they occur.
Reconcile payroll at the end of each payroll period and report event labor use allocations.
Ensure proper cash handling procedures for Parking and Valet Service are utilized.
Maintain control and integrity of parking safe and banks through use of daily safe logs, cash audits, and control procedures.
Reconcile sales to cash and/or credit card receipts in accordance with established accounting procedures.
Maintain, control and reconcile parking ticket stock.
Produce and provide daily and monthly reports in a timely fashion to appropriate personnel detailing parking activity, to include revenues by event, cars parked by event and operational analysis by event.
Attend regular meetings with Sales, Event Services, and Operations to discuss and communicate all future parking needs.
Review event parking history to develop plans for future operations. Maintain detailed history by day/event for future use.
Develop safe and logistical entrance and exiting traffic plans for events, utilizing labor, signage and traffic barricades. Coordinate and communicate these plans with appropriate personnel, including local law enforcement if necessary.
Prepare staff properly for high traffic volume situations that regularly occur within the events business.
Monitor parking garage / surface lot during events to ensure smooth, efficient entrance and exiting of all vehicles.
Tactfully and promptly resolve all customer service issues related to parking.
Monitor, inspect and ensure proper use and maintenance of parking supplies, equipment, systems and structures. Communicate supply and maintenance needs to appropriate personnel. Assist with any and all procurements.
When required, coordinate Valet Services with contractor, Event Services Department and customer, to include space allotment, traffic flow, and timing and cost of services.
Recognize the need for constant training and procedure improvements, including but not limited to security / safety. Provide as needed.
Assist in the hands-on operation of daily events as business demands to provide excellent customer service and efficient vehicle movement.
Provide superior customer service to internal and external clients.
Ensure all ADA provisions relating to parking services are satisfied.
Investigate and mitigate any and all situations to limit liability in relation to a parking operation. Correct deficiencies as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma / GED required.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in facility management, management, business administration or related field preferred.
Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience working in the Parking Services field.
Possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Must have demonstrated ability to perform effectively under stressful situations and within a fast paced, high pressure environment.
Knowledge of supervisory skills including how to motivate, support and involve employees in accomplishing goals and objectives.
Demonstrated cash handling and basic accounting experience.
Ability to safely and accurately handle and account for large sums of money.
Computer skills including Windows Outlook, Word, Excel and ADP Payroll highly recommended.
Ability to utilize both manual as well as computerized parking systems.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing.
Ability to pass extensive criminal background and credit checks.
Must be available to work a flexible schedule beyond normal business hours, including long hours, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

While performing duties of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time constraints and with moderate to high pressure situations. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including: following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. Employees in this role will constantly be in leadership role; this requires directing others either verbally or in writing to complete tasks in prescribed time frame. This position also requires frequent use of interpersonal skills including: ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, greeting and directing clients verbally and with visual cues towards parking locations. Employee must be able to recognize and resolve conflicts, and be able to openly communicate in writing and verbally with clients. Employee will frequently communicate via radio and in-person with others and exchange accurate information. This position requires employee to frequently work both independently or as part of a team.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently operate a computer and other office devices such as calculators, telephones, copy machines, faxes and printers. Employee will also frequently move about inside and outside facility in various areas including parking lots before/during/after events in the course of supervising staff and directing clients to parking locations. Employee must constantly communicate via radio, telephone, email and in-person with others and exchange accurate information. Employee may occasionally be required due to business demands and event operations to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The duties of this position are performed primarily outdoors. Employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions prevalent at the time, year round. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate during non-event days and moderate to loud during event days.
