Box Office: Box Office Ticket Seller
TICKET COORDINATOR - PT - Ryan Center & Boss Ice Arena (Providence, RI)

Summary: Assists Director of Ticketing with day to day operations of the box office and assists with ticket operation for the Ryan Center, Meade Stadium, Edwards Auditorium, URI Athletics utilizing Spectra ticketing software for all event creations and financial reports, and maintains all box office policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Director of Ticketing in building all facets of events in the Spectra ticketing system.
  • Responsible for part time seller training, scheduling, supervision and payroll.
  • Supervise and oversee all financial settlements in regards to sellers and seller recaps.
  • Responsible for cash handling and box office controls.
  • Process financial reconciliation such as daily reports, event statements and monthly reports.
  • Responsible for system upgrades, occasional testing of new software and routine maintenance and trouble-shooting
  • Assist in the maintenance of marketing/trade/comp policies for all events.
  • Provide professional customer service to patrons and clients.
  • Oversee the maintenance and reporting of the AM Monitor ticket scanners.
  • Analyze challenges, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of organizational objectives
  • Assist in the maintenance of the URI Athletic ticket operations, customer relations, and game day box office management for all ticketed sports including football and basketball as well as other collegiate and conference sporting events as needed.
  • Assist with implementation of season ticket timelines for URI football and basketball including preseason renewals, promotion of new sales, seat allocations, compliance, ticket printing, packaging, and delivery.  
  • Assist URI Athletics with reporting needs, processing, etc. and ensure the proper use of ticketing system.
  • Assist with student ticketing services for home, away, and postseason contests – promote student attendance and facilitate associated ticketing.   
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant institutional, CAA, A-10, NCAA rules and regulations.  Work with CAA, A-10, NCAA and URI Athletic Compliance office to follow, enact, and educate rules and regulations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Extensive weekend and evening work required.

Qualifications:

  • Upperclassman/Graduate student in an accredited college or university and/or college grad with major course works in Marketing, business administration, or related field with interest in sports and entertainment.
  • 1-2 years experience in a Customer Service Environment
  • Knowledge of computers, especially Excel a must
  • Knowledge of Spectra Ticketing a plus, but not required
  • Capable of working a flexible schedule and extended hours

Sales & Marketing: Ticket Sales
TICKET SALES REPRESENTATIVE - PT - Ryan Center & Boss Ice Arena (Providence, RI)

Summary: Under the leadership of the Senior Ticket Sales Manager, the Part Time Sales Representative is responsible for the generation of ticket sales revenue.  The Sales Representative is also responsible for assisting the Senior Ticket Sales Manager with all aspects of the annual season and group ticket sales campaign including but not limited to Full Seasons, Partial Plans, and Groups for URI Football and Men’s and Women’s Basketball as well as family shows at the Ryan Center. 

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for communicating to clients and prospects through various means including direct contact, corporate partner gatherings, etc.
  • Meet with event clients prior to events in determining event needs, oversee related staff and provide information and direction to in-house departments and support staff.
  • Responsible for producing the maximum revenue for URI Basketball and Football through the sale of ticket packages.
  • Knowledgeable in all URI Basketball and Football product lines including season plans, partial plans, and premium seating group packages.
  • Assist Senior Ticket Sales Manager with coordinating campaign schedule to ensure complete prospecting canvas of all products.
  • Manages all database information listings acquired through various entities through CRM database.
  • Assist with closing business, sales calls and appointments.
  • Responsible for handling customer challenges and/or concerns as they relate to sales made by the department.
  • Assists with requests for additional support staffing for outside events and games.
  • Personally Selling.
  • Assist Senior Ticket Sales Manager with Ticket Sales Marketing plan to increase Ticket Revenue.
  • Prepare sales material and collateral.
  • Research and implement “best practices” of sales events by networking with other sports teams.

Nonessential Functions:

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sports Management, or Business-Related field required
  • Minimum of one (1) year fundraising, promotional, or sales experience with a collegiate and/or professional sports team including some supervisory experience
  • Ability to travel and work nights, weekends and select holidays, in addition to traditional business hours, is required
  • Excellent organizational skills and customer service skills required
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment yet capable of completing tasks independently
  • Positive thinker required
  • Enthusiastic, motivator and sales professional required
  • Excellent knowledge of PC systems including Word, Excel, and database management software
  • Familiarity with Customer Database Management Software a plus
  • Ticketing software knowledge a plus
