GROUP SALES/MARKETING COORDINATOR - Spectra Venue Management- Sun National Bank Center (Trenton, NJ)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage and participate in the development and implementation of all aspects of Group Sales programs and activities

  • Plan and coordinate theme night promotions and special events for corporate executives, businesses, fans, and all applicable customers

  • Responsible for continuing development and creation of new revenue streams for Group Sales

  • Works with promoters on group sales plans and budgets

  • Achieve/exceed assigned sales goals

  • Assist with development and implementation of revenue and expense budget for group sales department

  • Track and manage daily, weekly and monthly sales reports

  • Assist Marketing Manager in the creation and implementation of marketing and public relations campaigns to maximize event awareness and exposure

  • Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and suggest new ideas to promote the facility and facility events.

  • Assist in negotiating and implementing promotional & trade media buys and third party campaigns for select events

  • Manage venue Kids Club Program in conjunction with Director of Corporate Sales

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of grassroots marketing plans

  • Create news releases & feature stories about the facility and special events

  • Assist with community relations efforts including fulfilling donation requests and coordinating community involvement with Arena Cares Committee

  • Develop promotions and day of event activities and execute event responsibilities as required

Nonessential Job Functions:

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned      



  • Bachelor’s degree or better from an accredited college/university with major coursework in Business, Communications, Marketing, Facility/Sports Management or other related field

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments efficiently and effectively under strict deadlines

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, CRM software and Adobe Photoshop is preferred.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends and select holidays as required, in addition to traditional business hours

  • Previous sales/marketing experience with an arena, convention center, hotel or other similar public assembly facility

  • While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits.  Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including: following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. Employees in this role will constantly be in leadership role; this requires directing others either verbally or in writing to complete tasks in prescribed time frame.  This position also requires constant use of interpersonal skills including: ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, being able to recognize and resolve conflicts, being able to openly communicate in writing and verbally with clients.


    Physical demands:

  • While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee constantly operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc; occasionally moves about inside the office to access storage areas, cabinets and office machinery; constantly moves about the facilities and event sites before, during and after events to service clients and supervise staff; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information.


    Work environment:

  • The duties of this position are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate to loud during events and minimal during non-event times.
